JULIE LAWLOR-SALVATI

Education:

Julie has an Honours Bachelor of Music (First-Class Standing) from Brock University, and a Master of Music (Performance and Literature), in Collaborative Piano: Accompanying and Chamber Music from The University of Western Ontario.  She has studied with Dr. Karin Di Bella, Clark Bryan, Cécile Ousset, and Dr. John Hess. Julie has received awards from Imperial Oil, Brock University, and The University of Western Ontario.  She was also a recipient of the Ontario Graduate Scholarship.  Julie has attended the Cours d'intérpration de Cécile Ousset, the Queen of Puddings Music Theatre Summer Opera Workshop, and the Canadian Operatic Arts Academy.

Teaching:

Julie has been a piano and theory teacher in London, Ontario since 2006, teaching students of all age ranges and levels. She is a Royal Conservatory of Music Certified Teacher, with Elementary and Intermediate piano and theory specialist designations. Julie is also a Registered Conservatory Canada teacher, and a member of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers’ Association. Students of Julie have gone on to post-secondary musical education and musical careers.  She strives to encourage a love of music in all of her students.

Performing:

Julie is the accompanist for the Jack Richardson Award and Forest City London Music Award-Winning King’s University College Chamber Choir.  She is also the accompanist at Christ the King University Parish, which includes a traditional and a contemporary choir. Julie is a freelance accompanist and vocal coach.
